Hickory Park’s was established in 1970, and since its inception has become an Ames Tradition!
Hickory Park’s reputation has flourished from an expansive menu filled with a variety of hickory smoked meats served in generous portion.

If you were in Ames and missed Hickory Park, I feel sorry for you. Worth an hour standing in line for us
Is it a good or bad thing when the waitress at Hickory Park remembers serving you the day before AND your orders?
Dakota, thanks for being a great part of our multi-state adventure.
…and all the fam that met up with us tonight too.
I’ve been going for 50 years (this year is their 50th anniversary). Started going at their first location on E Lincolnway. Always been great atmosphere and barbecue. The ice cream is the cherry on top.
We have lived here 6 years and never tried Hickory Park until last week…wow, we had no idea what we were missing! We went for a late lunch so it was not extremely busy. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The food was amazing, and the atmosphere was quiet with lots of neat things hanging on the wall to see. The building and decor reminded me of a lot of Lambert’s Restaurant in southern Missouri.
